Crazy Rich Asians

Kevin Kwan’s adult novel, Crazy Rich Asians, is the basis for the 2018 romantic comedy of the same name. It chronicles the trials of tribulations of a Chinese-American Economics professor, Rachel Chu, who is shocked to discover that her modest boyfriend, Nick, belongs to the richest family in Singapore. When he invites her to attend his best friend’s wedding back home, she must come face to face with Nick’s very traditional mother, who bristles at the thought of her son marrying beneath his social class.
